The Effect of TV Program as Student’s Learning

As we know, television is one of people’s prime necessities. Many people rely on television for news, sports and entertainment. Television is just one of the many examples how technology has changed our lives. For few years ago, television was considered as great information machine. But now, television has lost its role as information media for people in today’s society.

Actually, television has two important parts. There are Information and entertainment. Take a look for many years ago. Many channels compete to present Update and Accurate news. But now, we can count with our finger how many news programs will be showed completely on TV? Although, after every one hour there will be news, but it just spent ten or fifteen minutes. How can we compare with TV series that we know in Indonesia as Sinetron ? As you know that, one TV channel has about twelve sinetrons that will be showed from early morning until midnight everyday. Not only that, there are Music and Talk show programs that have similar position with Sinetrons as entertainment programs.

From these facts you can make comparison like this:

Of course you can get a conclusion that television nowadays is less information especially for student like us who really need information directly so much.

Nowadays, teenage sinetrons are enjoyed by many people. Even kids, follow the story from the beginning until end. But do you know, what does the film tell about? Truly, the sinetron just tell about lifestyle and glamorous. “How do the students in a big city hang out with their friends?”, “How do the students spend their money just for fun ?” , “What they usually do to each other ?”

All of them are useless. Right? So why should we watch it? We will not get anything better after watch it

But sometimes, there are still many students who want to watch it. As the result, they follow what they watch on TV. They go to school, with heavy make up. Wear mini uniform and tight short skirt. Wear the skirt at their hips. All of these were caused of television programs.

It will make the students go to school just for dress up and look awesome. Not to study hard and digest the lesson. The school became a place to show off fashion style and beauty. It’s really – really destroy our way of learning. We lose our main goal to improve the education only because we do mistake by choose TV pograms as our orientation for study.
